Solo play in Elden Ring Nightreign is so hard that developer FromSoftware has already patched the game to make it easier. However, game director Junya Ishizaki has told fans that not only is solo mode “very possible”, but he’s done it without any relics.
While Ishizaki has admitted that Nightreign has some faults with plans to make solo mode easier and also add duos support post-launch, hardcore fans should be able to play the game entirely on their lonesome if they’re good enough.
Elden Ring Nightreign director gets good
Speaking in an interview on CNET, Ishizaki explained that he went through the final build of the game and beat every boss to make sure it was doable.
“Yes. I can hopefully give you reassurance to know that I have beaten all of the game’s bosses,” the game director said. “I’ve seen everything it has to offer, both in multiplayer and as a solo player. So I want you and players to know that this is very possible, and I want you to have the confidence to give it a try yourself.”
The Elden Ring Nightreign director even said that he was able to beat the entire game “without relics”, obtainable buffs players can earn by simply playing the game. While fans are already doing major challenge runs to make the game as hard as possible—as they do with every FromSoftware game—the game is currently doable.
Nevertheless, post-launch plans for Nightreign are not only adding more enemies, bosses, classes and more. Alongside new content, FromSoftware is planning to continue balancing the game based on player feedback to make the multiplayer action game better for everyone. After all, the team wants this entry to make players more “comfortable” than prior titles.
After Nightreign, FromSoftware is planning to release its Nintendo Switch 2 PvPvE game The Duskbloods on Nintendo Switch 2 next year. Once the studio’s two multiplayer games are out, the studio will return to its usual single-player releases that players are used to.
